Established over 50 years ago, the Greater Huntsville Humane Society is financially supported by generous private donors, grants, and local sponsorships. Each year thousands of dogs and cats find loving homes through our adoption and rescue programs.
This facility will offer a safe space for cats that are positive with FeLV (feline leukemia) and FIV (feline AIDS), with hopes of providing a space for education and adoption. The facility will be converted from the original GHHS Thrift Store on the Johnson Road property.
Our programs and initiatives transform the lives of our four legged friends and our community. All GHHS programs, such as King’s Community Kitchen, HHOT Dogz, and the Pet Wellness Clinic, drive our mission forward and create an avenue to find proper placement for pets in our community.
The Greater Huntsville Humane Society has been rescuing North Alabama’s homeless animals for more than 50 years. Our mission is dedicated to supporting the humane care and treatment of all animals and providing adoption services to homeless and unwanted animals.
Your Pet Pal Membership creates a general fund account that allows us to use your donation without restriction. This helps us to cover emergency animal care expenses for the animals who need it most.
