GHHS Thrift Store is the best in Madison County! The store’s mission is to sell donated goods and provide funds for the shelter animals.

We greatly appreciate all donations that GHHS can sell in the store

However, when we receive items that cannot be used we must pay to dispose or recycle them. In doing so, it raises our expenses and reduces the resources that we have available to fund GHHS programs and services.

Details on arranging pick-ups for your donation will be available shortly.

What we DO accept:

  • Antiques and collectables
  • Artwork
  • Arts and craft items
  • Bedding, linens and blankets (no bed pillows)
  • Books (no text books, encyclopedias or magazines)
  • Clothing, accessories and shoes for the family
  • Countertop appliances
  • DVD players
  • Flat screen TV’s (no analog, tube, cabinet TV’s)
  • Furniture (no mattresses or box springs)
  • Home and holiday decor
  • Housewares
  • Jewelry
  • Kitchenware
  • Musical instruments (no pianos or organs)
  • Pet supplies
  • Toys (no missing or broken pieces)

What we DO NOT accept:

  • Analog, tube or cabinet TV’s
  • Automobile parts, tires and wheels
  • Barbecues
  • Beds and bed frames
  • Building materials (carpet, doors, windows, lighting, sinks, toilets, faucets, lumber, etc.)
  • Chemicals or toxic substances of any kind, paint, varnish, stains, weed killer, pesticides
  • Computers, monitors, printers, scanners, software, fax machines
  • Cribs and car seats
  • Drapery and rods
  • DVD’s, CD’s, Records, Cassettes, VHS or 8 Track tapes
  • Exercise equipment
  • Food
  • Furs
  • Large appliances
  • Lawn mowers and garden equipment
