Saving lives while serving community

The GHHS Monte Pet Wellness Clinic, provided in partnership with South Huntsville Veterinary Hospital, is a community resource providing budget-friendly veterinary care.

This is for routine care only. Sick animals will be asked to schedule an appointment with an off-site area vet. Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Signups will begin at 8:55 AM with a volunteer.

Revolution will be available for purchase. All dogs must complete a heartworm test prior to owner purchasing the preventative. All pets will be required to receive Rabies Vaccine, unless documentation is provided from another veterinarian.

All payments are required before leaving the clinic. Acceptable Forms of Payments: Cash and Credit Only. No checks.

Growing Every Year.

In June 2024, GHHS partnered with South Huntsville Veterinary Clinic to launch Monte’s Wellness Clinic. In 2024, the clinic provided services to 110 pets from 77 community households. In 2025, the clinic supported the routine care of 278 animals through the monthly clinic and pop-up clinics in Madison County. In 2026 we look forward to providing resources to even more, including a Wellness Challenge to 9 additional counties in August.

In addition to the monthly clinic, GHHS supports community-owned pets through spay/neuter vouchers and our emergency medical assistance program, the Good Samaritan Fund. These programs are funded by year-round donations, and their availability depends on the amount of funds raised.

In 2025 GHHS provided 44 Good Samaritan vouchers totaling $12K to help owned pets in our community during emergency care. In addition, 120 spay and neuter surgeries were provided through our voucher system!
We would like to thank:
And our pawesome community supporters for their support in these efforts!

Who is Monte?

Monte’s Wellness Clinic is named after our program donor’s “soul dog”, her first pet that taught her how to be a responsible pet owner.

The pawprint logo for Monte’s Wellness Clinic is a replica of his pawprint to immortalize his legacy and to be a reminder that routine care is essential for our furbabies!
