The National Animal Care & Control Association

NACA is the professional organization for animal services workers across North America. Shelter directors, animal control officers, veterinarians, field staff — the annual conference is where they come to train, connect, and get better at the work.

This year the conference is in Huntsville, Alabama. GHHS is hosting. That’s not something that happens every year — and it’s a big deal for our team, our city, and the animals who benefit from a stronger, better-trained animal welfare community.

Why You Should Come

Three full days of training, an evening reception, and a Tuesday afternoon inside a working shelter. If you work in animal services, there aren’t many better ways to spend four days in December.

1. Three Days of Professional Training

Structured curriculum from Monday through Wednesday, led by people who do this work for a living.

2. Hands-On Time at GHHS

Tuesday afternoon moves from the conference room to our shelter. You’ll train with our team in an actual working facility.

3. Monday Evening Reception

5:30 to 7:30 PM. A chance to meet your peers & network with animal service providers.

4. Huntsville Is Worth the Trip

Rocket City. Great food, a real arts scene, and one of the fastest-growing downtowns in the South. Worth coming a day early!
