Mrs. Anne Caldwell, GHHS CEO, has resigned. Caldwell ended her two-year term on Friday, October 29th. Caldwell states, “It’s been such an honor to serve alongside this passionate group of animal advocates. I am so proud of what we have accomplished together during my time and look forward to watching GHHS continue to thrive, grow, and save more lives”.
Spencer Batcheller has over ten years of animal care experience. His roots are in Fort Dodge, Iowa where he held the positions of manager and board member at the local county shelter. He also possesses experience in dog park development, working closely with Purina. Since moving to the Huntsville area in 2018 he served as the Adoption Center Manager for another local nonprofit rescue until starting as the Director of Animal Care with GHHS in October 2019. During the summer of 2021, Batcheller added Chief Operations Officer duties to his GHHS responsibilities.
In May 2021, Batcheller graduated from the Connect C-23 Leadership Greater Huntsville program. When asked what he took away from this year-long experience, in addition to developing leadership skills and building community relationships, Batcheller stated, “understanding the city and the surrounding area as a whole while learning more about the non-profit needs in the greater Huntsville”.
