Position Summary: Supervises the operations of the GHHS facility by working with the CEO and GHHS staff, along with the Board of Directors and Animal Care Committee, to develop and implement GHHS policies related to animal care, treatment, handling, and adoptions.
GHHS Responsibilities:
- Supervises Clinic Manager and Animal Care Staff; develops and maintains protocol for animal care to industry standards; provides leadership, mentoring, opportunities for professional development, and progressive discipline if needed.
- Cultivate positive and productive relationships with GHHS staff, fosters, volunteers, and members of the public.
- Work alongside organizational leaders to assist in fulfilling and reporting grants, finances, communication, and any other core mission programs.
- Supports front desk with direct contact with the public, assisting with problematic situations, and handling phone calls when call volume overflows.
- Maintains contact with the Program Coordinator on [email protected], Foster Program, and adoption program to ensure prompt online responses regarding the surrender or adoption of animals and general requests for information.
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of shelter and all buildings & grounds; schedules routine maintenance; secures bids for services.
- Provides input to CEO for animal care, shelter, and maintenance portion of the annual budget; reduces costs where possible while maintaining the highest quality of products.
- Staff Liaison to Animal Care Committee.
- Maintains awareness of industry standards and innovations through publications, attendance to seminars, and contact with persons of equivalent positions in similar organizations and communicates such information to CEO, BOD, staff, and Animal Care Committee.
- Coordinate Kings Kitchen, Wellness Clinic, Rehome, and foster programs with support of volunteers and leadership team.
- Coordinates special projects for volunteers or groups of volunteers.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree preferred in Animal Science or related field; extensive work experience required in animal care; minimum of five years of management experience.

Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred. Three years experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or related field, handling, medicating, restraining, and caring for animals; computer skills; organization skills.
