A Pup in Critical Condition

Have you ever had to decide on something in a split second? Was it to save a life? Unfortunately, Spencer Batcheller, GHHS Interim CEO, was in this position.

Shortly after our 90s rock litter was featured on socials, Oasis became extremely ill. Thanks to her foster mom contacting the animal care staff right away, an immediate trip to McCurdy Animal Hospital occurred. Upon initiating emergency surgery, Dr. Kirsten Jaegerson realized Oasis was in a very rare condition known as Intussusception; where a segment of the intestine telescopes into a nearby portion of the digestive tract.

Due to this rare dilemma, Oasis was transported to Huntsville Veterinary Specialists & Emergency (HVSE) and an additional surgery was completed by Dr. Nicki Plunkett, veterinary surgeon.

Currently Oasis is still in the care of HVSE, with a $5K dollar bill that is still rising! We hope to have a clearer update on her health and recovery by Monday – paws crossed!

Please consider giving to this little rockstar – she is certainly worth it!
